    Description

This is a super rare original handbill from when The Doors performed at Shrine Exposition Hall in Los Angeles, California on December 22nd and 23rd, 1967. The Doors' first performance in this venue is a well-executed show full of theatrical movements from a high-spirited Jim Morrison. Morrison even commandeers some lighting equipment and lights up sections of the audience. Some of the songs played this evening were Break on Through, Back Door Man, When the Music's Over, Light My Fire, and The Unknown Soldier, and Morrison even finds the time to talk about his arrest in New Haven that happened less than two weeks earlier. The Doors' second performance at the Shrine is cut short by a police raid because of the unruly and violent behavior of the audience. Some of the songs that The Doors manage to perform before they are interrupted by the arrival of the police only half an hour into the show are Break on Through, My Eyes Have Seen You, and When the Music's Over.
This handbill measures 7,75 inches x 5,06 inches or 19,68 centimeters x 12,85 centimeters. The back of the handbill shows a map of where the venue is located. This handbill has creasing in the middle and puncture damage in three corners. The back of the handbill has some glue residue but otherwise, the condition of this almost 54 years old handbill is good. Please see the pictures.
