    Description

This is a very rare ticket stub from The Doors legendary performance on The New York Rock Festival at Singer Bowl, Flushing Meadows, Queens, NY on August 2nd, 1968. The audience is aggravated and impatient on this dreadfully hot and humid New York summer night when The Doors take place on stage and they are greeted with a thunderous assault of over 17 000 screaming fans with some of them rushing the stage but a wall of policemen stop the onrush of people. The chaos escalates continuously during The Doors' performance, with fights erupting throughout the Singer Bowl and hysteria building up. The Doors perform Back Door Man, Five to One, Break on Through, When the Music's Over, Wild Child, Wake Up!, Light My Fire and The End, and Morrison shrieks, moans, gyrates, and minces onstage throughout his performance while singing with a very precise and articulate emphasis on the lyrics. Other bands that performed this evening were The Kangaroo and The Who.
